Overview:

The Sr. Director of HR will direct and oversee all HR operations within the assigned business. Reporting directly to the VP, HR and Talent Management, this leader will oversee a team responsible for supporting all employees within the business unit and be the direct HR business partner for the business presidents. This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership and will formulate partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. The Sr Director, HR maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its short, mid and long-range plans, its culture and its competition.  The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives, foster innovation, and ensure efficient team operations to support our workforce through the full employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically partner and build effective relationships with business presidents and their leadership teams
  • Support and drive our HR strategy to attract, develop, reward and retain the best talent
  • Implement organizational human resources policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legislation (including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA)
  • Defines and deploys training and career development programs for the business in collaboration with enterprise training and development resources
  • Lead and mentor a team across various HR practices, fostering an environment of collaboration and strategic partnerships
  • Collaborate with business leaders to implement and support the enterprise compensation philosophy, advising and coaching on appropriate compensation solutions
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Collaborate with Employee Relations function to resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Anticipate and plan for the effects of organization change, identify risks and develop action plans to ensure the changes succeed
  • Lead efforts with business and HR management to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Responsible for strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the team in alignment with the company and business objectives
  • This role will lead a team of 5 - 10 direct reports and may lead managers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration
  • Minimum 12 years of experience including resolving complex employee issues
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management and leadership development
  • Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of HR
  • Minimum 5 years of successfully leading and directing a team including hiring and developing HR talent.
  • Has led the work of personnel actions, including hiring, performance management, talent movement and terminations.
  • Ability to lead in a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, standards development, HR metrics, and reporting, excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive/inductive reasoning, and analytical skills, coupled with significant business and financial acumen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including executive level presentation skills with the ability to represent HR at business executive leader meetings
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as HRIS programs

Salary Range: $185,000 - $215,000 annually, depending on experience and geographic location plus eligibility for an annual bonus, subject to plan terms.
