Pay Range: $45.00-$58.50 per hour, based on experience.

  MAIN FUNCTION  
  • Assists the Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging in all phases of Ultrasound activities.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality Ultrasound diagnostic services.
  • Coordinates services, staffing, training & equipment function for Ultrasound services in & outside the Health System to meet & exceed expectations of our customers.
  • Helps coordinate smooth interactions within Diagnostic Imaging, including both associates and radiologists.
  • Directly supervises sonographers.
  • Actively supports the mission, goals and objectives of the Health System being responsive to patients, radiologists and referring physicians.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities involved in Ultrasound Diagnostics.
  REQUIRED JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES  
  • Must meet JCAHO standards for directing a ultrasound department.
  • Performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.
  • Mature, responsible, accountable, ambitious, innovative, and autonomous.

  • Demonstrates ability to deal with others in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
  • Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to patients and staff of the health system.

  COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES  
  • Demonstrates skills in time management and independent decision making.
  • Accommodates all requests for add-on patients, obtains appropriate lab values, facilitates patient flow (i.e. ED, outpatient, inpatient, etc.).
  • Coordinates interventional procedures with DI nursing staff.
  • Provides effective physician communication (i.e. prescription confirmation).
  • Works with the Director and Chief on department Policy & Procedures and protocols pertaining to the function of the Ultrasound department.
  • Provides guidance and oversight of staff sonographers and new associates.
  QUALIFICATIONS  
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Registered in Abdomen and OB/GYN required
  • B.S. degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound required.
  • Basic CPR training required or to be completed within three months of hire.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a clinical environment performing routine and advanced diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Three years of progressive supervisory experience preferred.
  • Business plan development and accountability desired.
 

 

Pay Range: $45.00-$58.50  per hour
