Position Summary:
The Youth and Civic Engagement Specialist will support the Team Lead and other team members in carrying out all necessary tasks to complete the HES II evaluation. They will support the Team Lead in the document review, instrument development, and data collection planning process. They will ensure that instruments capture valid data that can provide critical insights around the program's focus on leadership skills and civic engagement. They will also participate in conducting data collection, analyzing the data, and writing sections of the evaluation report. This is a short-term position expected to take place between January – May 2026.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
• Identify and analyze research relevant to the evaluation research questions.
• Provide contextually relevant information on the youth and civic engagement programming in the MENA region and in Lebanon, including on programs serving host and refugee communities.
• Participate in the development and revision of instruments
• In consultation with the Team Lead, coordinate and conduct data collection efforts including conducting key informant interviews and focus group discussions.
• Analyze data and contribute to report writing.
• Support the development and delivery of the evaluation presentation.
• Coordinate with the Team Lead and other team members.
Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree in education, law, international development, social sciences, or other relevant field from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience working on or researching topics including civic engagement, formal and nonformal education, refugee education programming, capacity strengthening, and job readiness programs, required.
• Strong organizational, analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills required.
• Oral and written proficiency in English and Arabic required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience conducting evaluations of USAID-funded activities, preferred.
• At least 10 years' experience in the MENA region, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• This position has no work or environmental factors outside of a standard office environment.
Additional Information:
• Only Lebanese citizens are eligible for this position
• This is a short-term, temporary position.
• The position is 100% remote.
