The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is looking for a full-time, Technical Editor and Word Processor based in Albuquerque, NM

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical editing, document accessibility, and Section 508 compliance. This role involves editing and formatting various documents, ensuring they meet accessibility standards, and supporting project teams in producing high-quality deliverables.  An additional role would be to perform as an office support person at our Albuquerque, NM office location.

Your Role
The selected candidate will:
•    Edit and format proposals, reports, graphics, and other client deliverables for clarity, readability, organization, spelling, grammar, content, and layout.
•    Conduct Section 508 compliance reviews of PDF, Word, and PowerPoint files to ensure document accessibility.
•    Develop and update internal training materials and guidance documents on Section 508 compliance.
•    Collaborate with project teams to create accessible templates and ensure adherence to project guidelines.
•    Provide ad hoc training and support to project teams on document accessibility and compliance.
•    Manage editorial projects, including scheduling, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion.
•    Use Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other software to produce high-quality documents.
•    Adapt to various client style guides and familiarize with internal style guide modeled after Chicago Manual of Style. 
•    Perform other cross-functional duties as assigned. 
•    Occasional writing tasks.

Qualifications
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical editing and document formatting.
•    Proven expertise in Section 508 compliance and document accessibility.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and SharePoint.
•    Strong understanding of various style guides (primarily Chicago Manual of Style).
•    Strong understanding of Word "Styles" and formatting.
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office or remote environment.
•    Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
•    Experience in training on document accessibility a plus.
•    Technical writing experience preferred.


Degree / Certifications
•    Bachelor's degree in English, communications, or a related field. 

Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work at computer screen for extended periods.
