Your Role:
Tetra Tech's High Performance Building division is currently seeking a full-time Project Manager – Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading challenging projects of various construction types in a wide range of industry sectors. The successful candidate will work with other Tetra Tech team members in the delivery of company project initiatives related to structural engineering. The ideal candidate enjoys working as a team player in a flexible environment and seeing work followed through during onsite visits. Your contributions will include.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and contracts to facilitate firm growth and coordinate with business development managers.
- Communicate effectively with clients and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure client satisfaction and successful project completion within budget and timeline constraints.
- Assist with the execution of projects from conceptual planning phases through final plans, specifications, and estimate bid packages.
- Maintain existing client relationships and help develop new client and project opportunities.
- Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
- Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines.
- Provide construction support services such as bid evaluations, plan clarifications, review shop drawings, review monthly progress reports and evaluate change order requests.
- Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design team.
- Make independent assessment of engineering problems and recommend solutions to engineering discipline leads, resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
- Work closely with clients, architects, and other professionals on construction plans.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
- 10+ years of experience successfully managing complex civil engineering projects as a Project Manager.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer.
- Skilled in using computer analysis and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoDesk.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated history of technical leadership, and teamwork skills to support project pursuits and implementation of projects with existing and new clients.
- Expertise in field of study to independently design and analyze site/civil projects.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods to the civil engineering industry.
- A valid driver's license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites when required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Certification (PMP)
This role can be performed from a wide range of locations throughout the US. The pay range for this position is between $115,000 - $140,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on primary work location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal parity.
