The Position

As the Structural Engineer Lead at NDY, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional structural engineering services throughout the project lifecycle. Based in Canberra, you will work independently and as part of multi-discipline project teams to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technically excellent engineering designs and consultancy services to our clients
  • Take on a senior design engineer role in various projects
  • Mentor and support the technical development of junior team members
  • Assist with bid preparation and submissions as needed
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and secure new projects
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality within the team
  • Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in leading projects and teams
  • Foster a people-first, supportive leadership style that prioritizes team well-being and development.

Who we're looking for:

  • 5-10 years Structural engineering professional with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Significant experience at a Senior Engineer level, ideally within a consulting engineering background
  • Expertise in structural investigations of existing structures and construction phase inspections
  • Flexibility to work on projects ranging from minor reviews to major structural developments
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle, including project delivery
  • Chartered Engineering status is desirable, or eligibility to apply for CPEng/NER
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian codes and standards, and proficiency in designing RC/PT concrete, structural steel, and mass timber
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RAM Concept, RAPT, Spacegass, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar.
