The Opportunity
- Location: Papua New Guinea
- Full-time, fixed-term appointment through to June 2027
- Support transformative change at Australia Awards PNG and drive initiatives that strengthen equality and inclusion.
Australia Awards PNG (AAPNG) supports Papua New Guinea's development by strengthening education, knowledge transfer, and institutional capacity, while building enduring Australia–PNG relationships. The program delivers high-quality education, fosters institution-to-institution partnerships, and develops the next generation of PNG leaders.
As the GEDSI Coordinator, you'll drive initiatives that strengthen equality and inclusion “in the DNA” of the program. From establishing GEDSI (Gender, Equity, Diversity and Social Inclusion) baselines and supporting mainstreaming across all scholarship activities, to strengthening safeguarding, influencing inclusive communications, and empowering staff through capacity‑building, your work will have a direct impact on opportunities for women, people with disability, and those from rural and remote communities.

Key Responsibilities
- Support managers and teams to mainstream GEDSI and develop targeted activities that break down barriers faced by scholars from diverse backgrounds.
- Strengthen safeguarding compliance by supporting the Higher Education Partnerships team on PSEAH and Child Protection.
- Advance intersectional MERL practices by helping the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning team collect, analyse and report data through a GEDSI lens.
- Promote inclusive communications by supporting the Communications and Public Diplomacy team to share diverse success stories and attract a broad range of applicants.
- Ensure compliance with all Tetra Tech and DFAT GEDSI and Safeguarding policies.
- Conduct child‑related risk assessments for relevant AAPNG activities.
- Coordinate and support FSV response activities, including staff training aligned with Tetra Tech policies.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience working in a GEDSI role which focused on supporting staff to deliver improved GEDSI outcomes
- Experience in conducting GEDSI analysis and coordinating or supporting GEDSI mainstreaming or the design of targeted GEDSI activities.
- Experience working in areas of eliminating violence against women, and/or the promotion of women's leadership and empowerment, as well as supporting people with disabilities and the inclusion of those from rural and remote areas of PNG.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing tasks.
- Experience in report writing and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
