The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Field Biologist Intern within our Salt Lake City, UT office. This position may have hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the local Salt Lake City, UT office. The intern will participate as member of biological resources survey crew, hiking daily to identify plants, animals, birds, and habitat components. Must be able to travel away from home weekly for up to 15-day mobilizations from May through August.

Your Role:
- Be a valuable contributor to biological resource data collection surveys.
- Identify plants and animals to species-level.
- Identify habitat components.
- Maintain attention to health and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma required. College student working towards degree in Environmental/Natural Resource Science.
- Capable of using a GPS device for navigation.
- Demonstrated experience in plant, animal, and bird identification and associated habitat component identification in intermountain and southwestern U.S. landscapes.
- Ability to travel and complete field work (approx. 75%-100% of travel required). Willing to be away from home for up to 15-day mobilizations.
- Daily hiking for entire workday in steep terrain on uneven ground, carrying a backpack with personal gear and provisions.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
