Description

  • Love working in the outdoor environment and getting your hands dirty?
  • Have the smarts to grow your career but not the tertiary qualifications?
  • Looking for an awesome team to work with and learn from?

We're looking for an environmental technician to join our growing team in Darwin!

If you have the right attitude to learn and commitment to grow, we'll provide the training, tools and support you need!

About the Role:

We're expanding our team to keep up with our busy and diverse project lineup across the NT.

Joining forces with our sister companies, Eco Logical Australia, Norman Disney Young and RPS lets us tap into a whole bunch of skills and resources. Together, we tackle tough challenges head-on, making sure our solutions are creative, solid, and fit each project like a glove.

This role offers a huge variety of tasks which reflect the diversity of projects you'll work on. From site assessment and remediation projects with the Department of Defence, to mine closure projects for commercial clients and hazardous materials/asbestos assessments for government and private clients, each week will bring something new for you to learn.

You'll be out in the field one week collecting water and soil samples and learning to compile the data required for technical reports. The next week you could be focussed on the built environment and learning how to conduct hazmat and occupational hygiene site assessment inspections; engaging with our clients and contractors and helping project correspondence.

About you

No. 1 is a great work ethic and a can-do attitude towards jumping in and learning as you go! Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship building skills are also a must.

No two weeks will be the same, so you'll need a flexible approach to juggle a variety of tasks. We also work where the projects take us, so be prepared to work remotely and regionally in NT as required.

A full Australian Driver's License is essential and because you'll work on Defence projects, you'll need to be an Australian permanent resident or citizen.

Experience gained in field work, labouring or construction will be advantageous, as will your keen interest in environmental work and developing your knowledge in this field.

What's in it for you

You'll join our awesome team, and you'll find a supportive environment where you can grow and shine. We're all about helping you reach your full potential, so get ready for some great personal and professional development!

You'll also enjoy these benefits:

  • We support you to make space for the other parts of your life - flexible work, study breaks and leave purchase plans enabling you to have up to 8 weeks of annual leave per year!
  • Opportunities to work across a wide variety of projects, clients, and sectors
  • Professional development opportunities including external training courses, further education and coaching by our approachable technical experts and Certified Occupational Hygienists (COH)®
  • Professional memberships
  • Reward and recognition program
  • Participation in company ownership through our employee stock purchase plan
  • Paid parental leave for primary and secondary care givers
  • Employee assistance program available to all staff and their immediate families
  • Multiple Employee Resource Groups that support employees to create collaborative, safe space teams with others who share diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Travel discounts through our corporate traveller program
  • Novated vehicle leasing options
