Tetra Tech is seeking a mid-level Geologist, Environmental Engineer, or Environmental Scientist for their Duluth, GA office to provide support on a variety of environmental projects, including emergency response with significant travel. Candidate will be providing technical support for U.S. EPA and other government and commercial contracts in the areas of environmental emergency and disaster response, CERCLA removal and remedial programs, system O&M, recurring groundwater monitoring, and environmental due diligence and compliance.
3+ years experience in environmental consulting or related experience required. The ideal candidate will have emergency response and removal or remediation management skills and the ability to respond quickly within a mandatory response time, as well as knowledge of federal and state regulations. Experience with remedial design, feasibility studies, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, air quality, water resources desirable. Previous experience working on EPA projects a plus. Experience in local, State or Federal emergency management, law enforcement, public safety, counter terrorism, public health, fire/hazmat, EOD, emergency medicine, continuity of operations planning, and/or exercise planning and execution will be considered.
Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. Must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload and travel; potentially on short notice. Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications are required. Must have the ability to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check.
B.S. in Geology, Engineering, or other related environmental science degree required. Advanced degrees preferred. 40-hour OSHA training and up-to-date refresher preferred. Lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. Capable of wearing and working in various levels of personal protection equipment, including an air purifying respirator.
