We are seeking an Environmental Planner located anywhere within the U.S., with a preference for candidates in or near the Rockies and Midwest Regions (location is flexible).

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with project managers and teams to prepare permitting documents, and assist with environmental siting, planning, and permitting for renewable energy, natural gas, and electric projects. We are looking for a detail-oriented team member who can take initiative on various tasks, act as a deputy project manager or task lead, and over time successfully lead tasks associated with renewable, natural gas, and electric energy projects. This includes assisting with developing proposals and cost estimates and executing project tasks.

 

Your Role:

·         Assist project managers by preparing environmental permitting documents and acting as a task lead or deputy project manager.

·         Prepare documents for energy facility siting/routing, permitting, environmental field surveys, and resource analyses.

·         Work within a team to prepare conditional use, land use, right-of-way, and other local jurisdictional permitting efforts.

·         Represent clients before federal, state, and local regulatory and land management agencies, boards, planning commissions, and councils.

 

Qualifications:

·         1 to 5 years of applicable work experience.

·         Handle multiple tasks, coordinate effectively with team members, and work independently within a team.

·         Research and interpret federal, state, and local regulations on a project-specific basis to assess project permitting feasibility and requirements, and interface with regulatory agencies.

·         Demonstrate critical thinking, flexible problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 yr.

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
