Summary:

At Tetra Tech, we provide diverse opportunities for training and advancement while working on interesting projects in multiple market segments.

We are continually seeking talented individuals for our entry level Environmental Scientist and Air Quality positions, working within 50 miles of one of our local offices.

Typical duties for an entry level position include but aren't limited to, field investigations, assessments, environmental monitoring, soil, air, and water sampling, and data analysis. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to collect real time field data; these projects help assure contaminates will not harm human health and the environment.

Your Role:

  • This position will have field and non-field related responsibilities. Field work and travel may include occasional nights and weekends.
  • Field work planning and preparation.
  • Sampling, environmental assessments, and site inspections.
  • Collection and proper documentation of samples to define the nature and extent of contamination.
  • Data evaluation and reporting. Tasks associated with reporting may include preparation of text, tables, charts, and figures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Environmental Science, Air Quality, or related field.
  • 0 – 4 years of experience in environmental services / consulting.
  • A good understanding of environmental services including investigation and remedial actions, environmental assessments, and sampling is preferred.
  • Ability to take thorough notes and preparation of data reports.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and principles.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with CAD or GIS is desirable.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher trainings preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to travel and perform field work (75% or more of field work required).
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions. 

Target salary range:  $50,000 to $75,000.  Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
