The Opportunity
The Kiribati Australia Infrastructure (Te KAI) Program is a flagship initiative supporting the delivery of small to medium-scale infrastructure projects that are climate-resilient, inclusive, and purpose-built. As the Construction Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of these projects, ensuring technical, safety, and quality compliance across all construction activities.
Based in Betio, Kiribati, and reporting to the Construction Manager, you will supervise on-site works, lead small teams, and work closely with contractors, government counterparts, and the broader Te KAI infrastructure team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your construction expertise in a meaningful context, supporting development outcomes in the Pacific.
Your Role
- Supervise small to medium-sized building projects (e.g. mostly single-storey timber framed, masonry, or concrete structures).
- Lead and mentor small work teams, ensuring safe and effective construction practices.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and environmental safeguards.
- Troubleshoot construction issues and support continuous improvement on-site.
- Conduct regular inspections, manage defect rectification, and maintain accurate site records.
- Collaborate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Integrate Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), and climate resilience into all operations.
About You
You are a seasoned construction professional with a strong background in site supervision and a passion for delivering infrastructure that makes a difference. You thrive in cross-cultural environments and bring a collaborative, hands-on approach to leadership and mentoring.
You will possess:

- Experience in procurement and contracting for goods and services.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs, particularly DFAT, is an advantage.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with cultural sensitivity.
- Commitment to safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusive work practices.
