The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity as a Construction Project Manager with Tetra Tech's team of scientists and engineers. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with expertise in heavy industrial, mining, and construction project management. Position responsibilities include proposal preparation, project management, report writing, and contractor management. The Construction Project Manager will manage projects commensurate with their existing training and experience, while being encouraged to take advantage of Tetra Tech's project management training program. The successful candidate will execute project from concept through commissioning with a strong emphasis on safety, communication, and operation optimization. This position includes a flexible hybrid work setting and schedule to be worked out with your supervisor, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the Salt Lake City, UT office.

Your Role:

The Construction Project Manager will have the opportunity to lead on a variety of projects including mine infrastructure developments, mine closure, water resources, and contaminated site remediation. Market sectors the Construction Project Manager will work with may include state and Federal funded watershed resiliency and impact mitigation, military facility, mining, oil and natural gas, commercial development, environmental cleanup, and industrial projects. The position will include duties such as:

  • Site reconnaissance and on-site evaluation of various governmental, commercial and industrial sites.
  • Preparation of reports and technical memorandums.
  • Development of cost estimates.
  • Development of bid specifications and contract documents.
  • Construction oversight and management.
  • Data compilation, review, and evaluation.
  • Strong problem solving, time management, and written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The position may require some travel (approx. 50% of the time), typically related to construction oversight, field investigation, and site reconnaissance.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Geology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of construction management work experience.
  • Ability to perform and lead field data collection and construction and reclamation oversight on state and Federal lands and facilities, commercial and industrial sites including active mines (approx. 50%-75% of travel required).
  • Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel, for data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language.
  • MSHA and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred, or ability to acquire.
  • Must be able to traverse large terrain carrying a 50lb pack, over uneven ground, in all weather conditions.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
