Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking a skilled brownfields professional with the experience and ability to conceive, develop, and implement reuse strategies at environmentally impaired or underutilized properties.  The position requires working with clients, multiple project teams, and independently to facilitate and support projects involving the cleanup and reuse of brownfields properties. The position will require supporting technical assistance projects involving the assessment and cleanup of environmental contamination and the assessment of reuse alternatives, including technical and financial considerations.  The position will involve working with local communities and stakeholders to facilitate meetings and support the reuse and redevelopment process.  The position will involve leveraging the candidate's experience and expertise to support and expand upon existing projects, identify and lead new projects under existing contracts, and independently pursue new clients and project opportunities. This position provides significant opportunities for professional growth and increasing levels of responsibility and advancement.

 

Qualifications:

This position requires subject matter knowledge, experience, and diverse skill sets to address the wide range of environmental, economic, and social issues that often accompany brownfields properties and their communities.  Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of brownfield programs at the national, state, local, and community levels and the landscape of opportunities that have been and are coming available to communities across the country. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate many of the following capabilities: 

  • the ability to negotiate approaches for assessment, cleanup, and redevelopment of brownfield properties with local, state, regional, and private sector entities
  • the ability to build relationships with diverse partnerships (public and private)
  • experience with property transaction support (buyer, seller, attorneys, regulatory agencies)
  • understanding or knowledge of financial planning for redevelopment, particularly for properties with environmental challenges
  • experience with brownfields community engagement/outreach and revitalization specific to community planning improvements (housing, etc.)
  • experience developing financial proformas and strategies for communities to acquire financial support for their redevelopment plan
  • experience with conducting market analysis and site visioning for redevelopment planning

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical or policy field, Masters preferred.
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification is desirable but not required.

Physical Demands:

Candidate must be able to work at a desk/computer and perform office-based tasks. Candidate must be able to travel in the U.S. and be able to facilitate and support in-person and virtual meetings. 

 

Work Environment:

Work environment is primarily an office environment with in-person and virtual collaboration with colleagues and clients.  Local and domestic travel between Tetra Tech and client offices, project sites, or brownfields communities across the U.S. will be required.
