Tetra Tech's WTR Division located in San Juan, PR is searching for a qualified Biologist with experience in wildlife, endangered species and wetland and conservation management to join our team to help support the disaster recovery and reconstruction efforts in Puerto Rico.  The primary responsibilities of this position are to participate in biological and environmental assessments and conduct project inspections with particular focus on environmental and permit compliance and monitoring. Your Role

  • Conduct field monitoring and mapping (visual and photogrammetric)
  • Conduct upland and aquatic environmental assessments and characterization
  • Support forest, site and mangroves restoration projects
  • Produce aerial and 3D mapping and characterization (Pix4D) using a drone
  • Monitor and document construction sites
  • Produce technical documents
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science required
  • 15 years (minimum) of experience in technical biology
  • Certified Drone Pilot strongly preferred with Pix4D experience and strong safety record
  • Technical writing
  • Data management
  • Field data collection 
  • Willing to work in harsh conditions such as long off-trail hikes, steep slopes, hot conditions, biological hazards (animals and plants)
  • Knowledge of Puerto Rico coastal and forest environments
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish
  • Valid Puerto Rico driver's license required
