Your Role:

 

We are currently seeking a Junior AI/Database Administrator (Co-op) for our Pickering, Ontario office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Databases – design and implement a database to track and monitor a predetermined set of data points
    • MS Access
    • MSSQL, SQL, SQL Server
    • Knowledge of Oracle in an asset 
  • Programming – utilize programming languages to create complex functions for use in databases
    • VBA, VB.NET
    • C++, Java is an asset
  • Full Stack Development – design and build modern web applications using ASP.NET Core for backend logic and React for front-end interfaces
  • API Integration – develop, consume, and manage RESTful APIs to support scalable data-driven systems and connect distributed services
  • Software Architecture – contribute to the design and implementation of secure, modular, and maintainable systems integrating database, application, and front-end layers
  • Excel – track and monitor predetermined set of data points in a spreadsheet with greater than 1,000 rows or columns using macros, Visual Basic, and advanced formulas
  • Word – creating, manipulating, organizing and formatting large, complex documents
  • Powerpoint – creating, manipulating, organizing and formatting large, complex presentation

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Recent graduate with University/College Degree completed or 4th year student
  • AI Integration – familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical use through APIs; experience with the OpenAI API is considered an asset
  • 1 year of related experience in database operation – working or previous co-ops is considered an asset
  • Previous AI experience is considered an asset
  • Access – demonstrate proficiency in Access queries, programming/coding, form building and reporting
  • Excel – advanced formulas, macro's, advanced analytics (trending/splicing, graphing etc.)
  • Word - Organize and format a large, complex document
  • Powerpoint - Organize and format a large, complex presentation
  • Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team

 

This is a co-op role with flexibility in duration (4 months, 6 months or 1 year)

 

Additional Information

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
