Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for Design Engineer to support clients located on Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. Will provide network-centric information technology (IT), networking, and security, voice, video and data communications, information and applications management, system solutions services as well as emerging requirements based on the AF Chief Information Officer's (CIO) Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) construct to satisfy all AEDC requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Design and provide continuous improvements to the cable plant infrastructure and infrastructure documentation of the Base Wide Duct System (BWDS) to include monthly reporting and auditing of any changes.
  • Provide a Fiber Testing Plan and Schedule to inform CORs and the Telecommunications functional area of fiber testing requirements each month.
  • Support all Arnold AFB Design/Systems Engineering and Project Execution efforts for Communications/IT and related specialties at Arnold AFB.
  • Design, Plan, Program (funding requirements), project control, execution, and support Comm/IT projects.
  • Provide Work Plans or Statements of Work (SOW) to plan, budget, and schedule efforts to meet requirements that exceed the magnitude of current scope

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in Communications and Information Technology Infrastructure (Comm/IT Architecture Design Planning and Solution Development, and Program and Project Management functions)
  • Experience with EIA/TIA standards, BICSI standards, UFC standards, AF Comm/IT standards
  • Must have an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • Desired experience with CIPS Work Planning Process IAW AF Policies, Directives, AFI's, and Technical Orders
  • Desired experience with Air Force Systems such as CIPS and CVC, and CAIRS for configuration management and for submission, reviewing, and updating current and future requirements
  • Desired experience with a typical AF Base Communications organization, the systems supported, research and collaboration with technical and subject matters experts within the Comm/IT functional areas, design reviews, and developing design planning documents.
