Overview

The Department of Finance & Management is seeking a VISION Financial Analyst II. This position is responsible for accounting, administrative, and functional work at a professional level involving statewide VISION Operations. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining, monitoring and analyzing the accounting records of the State to ensure that all policy, statute, and GAAP requirements are met. Additionally, the Analyst is responsible for daily processing of supplier pay cycles, supplier management and transactional review to assure timely ledger closes, and will perform standard statewide fiscal analysis and auditing. Duties are performed under the direction of the Assistant Director of Statewide Accounting.
 
Duties of the incumbent include and are not limited to:

  • Analyzing VISION general ledger and subsidiary module activity and data at a statewide level.
  • Making recommendations for new VISION procedures and changes to existing VISION procedures based on analytical reviews.
  • Reviewing and approving the posting of statewide general ledger transactions either on-line or through the journal generator.
  • Monitors posting of subsidiary module transactions and reconciling subsidiary module activity to general ledger balances on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations of statewide cash clearing accounts.
  • Overseeing the opening and closing of all general ledger and subsidiary ledger business units on a monthly basis for posting transactions.
  • Assisting with the year-end closing process, which includes account reconciliations, purchase order rolling, error resolution and capital asset maintenance.
  • Recommending and assisting in the implementation of new, additional, or changed VISION functionality. Works with departments and agencies to correct transactional errors.
  • Assisting departments and agencies with accounting and VISION procedure related questions.
  • Responsible for overseeing all VISION pay cycles and supplier maintenance.
  • Performing testing of VISION processes in test systems during quarterly patch updates, ERP upgrades and enhancements.
  • Producing quarterly financial statements for Unorganized Towns and Gores.
  • Performing special analytical reviews and leading team projects as needed.

This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed in a standard office setting. An incumbent can expect the pressure of frequent deadlines and end-of-year workload peaks. Some work outside of the regular work schedule can be anticipated.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of experience in accounting, financial auditing, or financial management.

 

OR

 

Associate's degree AND five (5) years or more of experience in accounting, financial auditing or financial management.

 

OR

 

Eight (8) years or more of experience in accounting, financial auditing, or financial management.
