Overview

Who We Are: 
 
The Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) oversees several grant and contract programs that help partner organizations deliver services across Vermont. These include programs addressing issues of housing and homeless, as well as the state's Weatherization Assistance Program. OEO is one of six divisions under the Department for Children and Families (DCF) which is one of the largest departments (1000 employees) within the largest agency (Agency of Human Services) in the state of Vermont.  Programs at OEO connect to strategic priorities including Housing and Affordability. The team has taken on new programs and seen significant growth in existing programs. This temporary position has been approved through June 30, 2027, and may continue with annual reviews, to create additional administrative capacity to support the team. 
 
This position is in the Waterbury State Office Complex and allows for a hybrid schedule, anticipating one day in the office per week.  
 
The Role: 
The Parttime Temp Administrative Services Coordinator II's primary role is to support the administrative functions of the office. OEO is looking for someone to join this team who: 
•    demonstrates empathy, concern, and respect for the Vermonters served by OEO programs, familiarity with anti-poverty programs 
•    pays attention to detail and can thrive in a busy work environment 
•    works collaboratively to build organizational capacity and engage in joint-problem solving
•    has exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all OEO team members
•    demonstrates proficiency with technology, primarily the Microsoft Suite of products as well as Adobe products, and the ability to quickly learn new platforms and databases.

Who May Apply

This position, Administrative Services Coordinator II - Temporary (Job Requisition #55720), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND three (3) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

One year of full-time college level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

Two years of full-time college level study OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

 

OR

 

Three years or more of full-time college level study OR a bachelor's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

 

OR

 

One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Coordinator I with the State of Vermont.

 

NOTE: Only administrative work experience is qualifying. Administrative support includes those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).

Special Requirements For some positions experience working with the VI SION system VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system may be required.
