You will provide end-to-end portfolio leadership, ensuring initiatives are aligned to business strategy, delivery priorities, governance standards, and expected business outcomes.

Working closely with senior business leaders, product owners, delivery teams, and key stakeholders, you will establish robust governance practices, manage cross-program dependencies, drive benefits realisation, and provide executive-level visibility into portfolio performance.

You will play a critical role in ensuring delivery momentum is maintained across a complex portfolio of initiatives while proactively managing risks, issues, resource constraints, and competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end management and governance of the IFL Portfolio, ensuring initiatives remain aligned with strategic business objectives and organisational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain portfolio governance frameworks, reporting standards, decision-making forums, and delivery controls.
  • Provide portfolio oversight across multiple concurrent projects and programs, ensuring effective prioritisation, sequencing, and delivery coordination.
  • Drive benefits realisation management, ensuring business outcomes are defined, tracked, measured, and reported throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against agreed milestones, outcomes, risks, dependencies, and success measures.
  • Identify, manage, and resolve cross-program dependencies, ensuring delivery activities are effectively coordinated across teams and business units.
  • Lead portfolio planning activities, including roadmap development, delivery forecasting, resource planning, and strategic prioritisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive stakeholders, providing trusted advice, decision support, escalation management, and strategic recommendations.
  • Facilitate Steering Committees, governance forums, and executive reporting processes, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of progress, risks, and decisions required.
  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, Operations, and Business leaders to align priorities and support successful delivery outcomes.
  • Drive proactive risk and issue management across the portfolio, ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented and monitored.
  • Support delivery teams by establishing clear governance, removing impediments, and enabling successful execution.
  • Champion continuous improvement across program and project delivery practices, leveraging lessons learned and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, regulatory obligations, audit requirements, and organisational standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and delivery excellence across the portfolio.
  • Lead post-implementation reviews and outcome assessments to ensure expected value and business benefits have been achieved.
What You Will Bring
  • 8+ years' experience delivering complex programs, portfolios, or large-scale strategic change initiatives within Financial Services, Superannuation, Wealth Management, Transfer Agency, Investments, or Software Delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple related projects and programs within a portfolio environment.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio, program, and project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Proven ability to establish and operate effective governance, reporting, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Experience managing senior executive stakeholders and influencing outcomes across multiple business functions.
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability, including business case oversight, benefits realisation, forecasting, budgeting, and investment governance.
  • Expertise in risk, dependency, issue, and change management across complex delivery environments.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery leadership.
  • Highly organised, outcome-focused, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using portfolio and project management tooling including Jira, Confluence, and other delivery management platforms.
  • Relevant qualifications in Program Management, Project Management, Agile Delivery, or related disciplines (PgMP, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or equivalent highly regarded).
