Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including a contact centre, using digital services.

What You Will Get To Do:

The Fund Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the accounting records and financial reporting for superannuation funds. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial and regulatory APRA reporting. The Fund Accountant works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as auditors, custodians and trustees to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting for several superannuation funds. 

This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Newcastle.

  • Review daily cashflows, daily bank reconciliations, monthly bank and general ledger (GL) reconciliations
  • Prepare and post monthly GL journals and support assistant fund accounting in investigation of reconciliation differences
  • Prepare monthly portfolio reconciliation between member registry and investment administration
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, including monthly management reporting, annual statutory, quarterly and annual APRA, and payment times reporting.
  • Preparation of BAS and IAS
  • Undertake control self-assessment testing and support external/internal audit assurance programs.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for the Fund Accounting Team.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3 years' experience in superannuation financial reporting/fund accounting and APRA reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • RG146 or studying towards
  • Professional qualifications or studying towards such as CPA, ACCA, CA
  • Highly proficient in Excel and working with large volumes of data.
  • Experience in superannuation fund accounting and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g. Xero, Sage).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Risk management: identification of control gaps, incident management and remediation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
