At-Will Job Description


Job Title: Systems Administrator


FLSA Status:  Exempt


Department:  Accounting


Type of Position:  Full-Time


Reports To: Controller                                                      


Reporting to This Position:  N/A


JOB SUMMARY


The Systems Administrator is responsible for assisting senior technical personal in all technical aspects of the organization. This position provides support for all hardware and software needs within the organization.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) preventing incidents or injury to self or others.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area for safe operation as well as customer presentation.
  • Performs work according to the highest quality standards to produce a superior end product, meeting or exceeding customer expectation.
  • Participates in and supports the principles of Open Book Management.
  • Serves as a technical resource in support services for system related problems.
  • Investigates and diagnoses minor problems to programs by following proper instructions and system specifications.
  • Monitors the daily performance of computer systems and programs.
  • Sets up equipment for computer system users insuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Installs software applications and configures those to end-users.
  • Configures and maintains e-mail and computer security system.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provides technical assistance to all employees and guests.
  • Diagnoses and recommends electronic solutions for floor equipment.
  • Researching and recommending improvements in process and systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES


  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise grade hardware, software, and applications.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in networking principals relative to switches, VLANS, firewalls and access points. 
  • Knowledge of Office 365 management and office applications.
  • Experience in Active Directory and management of a domain. 
  • Strong working knowledge of server virtualization.
  • Experience with PowerShell to perform administrative and automation tasks.  
  • Ability to think critically to comprehend system requirements and identify alternative solutions to problems.
  • Good interpersonal skills in order to maintain relationships with co-workers, supervisors and upper management.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • At least two (2) years of experience with systems administration required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's degree in CIS, CIM or related field is preferred.
  • Professional Certification such as MCSA, Net+, or applicable is preferred. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB


  • Frequently communicates with shop floor personnel, internal and external customers, and troubleshoot and provide technical assistance.
  • Frequently remains in a sitting position to perform desk duties.
  • Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands to create reports and ledgers.
  • Frequently views the computer to perform duties.
  • Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room experiencing temperature changes while communicating with production personnel.
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noises when walking floor during production to troubleshoot electronic issues.
  • Assists in running cables. 
  • Occasionally lifts objects such as office supplies with weight up to 25 pounds.
  • Seldom exposed to smoke and carbon monoxide for less than ten minutes when on shop floor.
