Overall Role to Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. 

 

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, the Product Engineering Technician supports the engineering team in the development and launch of future programs, as well as the support of current programs. Success in this position is determined by the ability to meet the customer's targets for cost, quality, and timing of newly introduced product.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain safety and quality goals of the organization.
  • Be a contributing member of an interdepartmental team.
  • Develop future products in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning methodology.
  • Create BOMs, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Work Instructions for new product introductions.
  • Analyze core to understand failure modes and fall out rates.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Reverse engineer products to develop reman specifications.
  • Establish acceptance criteria for purchased parts.
  • Support existing products through customer and shop floor interaction.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diesel engines and components.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make appropriate decisions.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
