The Undersea Technology Portfolio, within the Sea, Land, & Air Division in SPA, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging undersea technologies and warfighting capabilities. We support clients across the undersea and naval special warfare enterprises, including those within resourcing and requirements, acquisition, and science and technology. SPA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Undersea Special Mission Systems Office. Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development of the Performance Specification for the Next Generation Submarine Rescue System. This role involves working with stakeholders to define system requirements, ensure subsystem integration, and support system testing and validation, with a focus on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Include: Develop and document performance specifications, ensuring requirements are clear, measurable, and traceable. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine system requirements. Lead subsystem integration efforts, including underwater vehicles, communication, and life support systems. Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and project risks. Ensure compliance with maritime, defense, and safety standards. Support development of testing and validation standards. Qualifications Required Qualifications: DoD SECRET security clearance Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline Minimum of 10 years relevant technical experience Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering High level of familiarity with undersea technology Experience with submergence systems, particularly with a NAVSEA program office
