The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within SPA's Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to Director Submarine Program directorates and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Director Submarine Program unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program, the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), and the AUKUS Integration and Acquisition Office, to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Director Submarine Program will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC #MC
Responsibilities
The Commitments Team Lead will serve as the program office's central point of contact for managing and tracking all official commitments. This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the commitments tracking system, implementing and upholding the program's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for commitments, and developing performance metrics. The Commitments Team Lead will ensure that actionable items are processed efficiently to support key program decisions and milestones for the SSN(X) program.
This position is located at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC with potential for light telework. There is some opportunity for up to ~10% travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business Management, or Information Management. Note: Relevant NAVSEA or U.S. Submarine experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a case-by-case basis
- 5+ years of experience
- High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including demonstrated experience creating and managing dashboards in Power BI
- Proven experience managing projects or programs, particularly in a role that involves tracking action items or managing database systems
- Active DoW SECRET security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior technical knowledge and/or operational familiarity with U.S. Submarine systems is preferred
- Prior experience managing complex projects within Navy acquisition programs, involving a wide variety of stakeholders
- Prior experience drafting, reviewing, and routing formal Navy correspondence, technical briefs, and action item packages through Navy chain-of-command structures. Familiarity with Navy Correspondence Manual standards is desirable
