The Joint Defense Support Group, within SPA's Sea Land Air (SLA) Division, supports the Surface Community and components of the United States Navy by providing program management, requirements management, force development, and readiness support in Washington DC and the Fleet concentration areas. We provide timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical, and acquisition support to the Maritime communities, and related agencies, allies, and partners. We are trusted agents of the senior and operational leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies. We play key roles in providing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security and have tremendous impact on our client's success in solving their most important issues. SPA has a near-term need for Mid-Level Aegis STO (SWTD) Operations Support. Responsibilities Provide analytic support for operational reach back requirements to answer Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Analysis (RFAs) as requested by COCOMs, NFCs, CSG/ESG staffs, units, and others to address new threat assessments and/or adversary's capability improvements or changes in weapons employment. Evaluate, assess, and contribute in the RFI / RFA review process in order to support recommendations with and from technical, analytical and other operational organizations (e.g., NAVSEA, JHU/APL, and NAWDC). Develop, edit, modify, validate and/or verify RFI/RFA response products. Review and monitor Fleet operations to include employment schedules, deployed operations tasking, fleet requirements, training and readiness levels and casualty reports to inform the Lines of Operations (LOOs) for the SMWDC staff. Provide expertise of Operations Research methodologies, policies, and procedures in order to conduct analysis of SMWDC mission. Maintain status of day-to-day Fleet Operations. Track current system status to afloat units (e.g. CASREPS). Track employment schedule of Navy assets, including operational-level tasking and Fleet requirements. Provide support to operational and tactical guidance development. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of military experience, and/or relevant industry and/or government experience with the surface navy's combat systems, C5I, networks, weapons systems and IAMD planning systems Minimum of 7 years of experience aboard Navy cruisers or destroyers acting in the capacity of a System Test Officer or Combat System Maintenance Manager Qualified and experienced in a watch station with the authority to employ the Aegis Weapon System (i.e. Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Air Warfare Coordinator (AAWC) Possess a Tactical Action Officer Qualification letter or BMD Watch Officer qualification letter Secret clearance and TS/SCI eligibility with the ability to maintain TS/SCI throughout employment Desired Qualifications: Experience with qualitative and quantitative assessment methods to support war-fighting readiness, capabilities, and capacity evaluations Experience in post weapons firing mission analysis of Aegis weapon systems
