The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA. Responsibilities The DARPA Information Technology Office (I20) is looking for a Computer Scientist / Privacy / OPSEC Technical SETA who can investigate, design, develop, and troubleshoot research approaches related to ensuring secure communications. The candidate will develop technical designs and specifications for complex solutions. Will also research and develop system architectures, design strategies, monitor development schedules, and research deliverables. Qualifications Required: 8+ years of related work experience. Active TS/SCI security clearance. Master's degree or higher (additional years of relevant experience may be substituted) in Computer Science, Software Development, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field of study. Experience in one or more of the following areas: privacy, secure communications, cybersecurity, and embedded systems Experience with research or novel approaches related to addressing cyber vulnerabilities Able to report to a designated work location, up to full-time, based upon the needs of the client. Understands multiple computer programming paradigms and has familiarity with a variety of programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, Java, SQL, etc.). Superior interpersonal, organizational, written, verbal communication skills, and attention to detail. Able to effectively manage time and collaborate across a diverse set of group/division priorities. Recognized expert at developing briefs and reports for project leadership team review. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Desired: Experience with the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Navy with respect to forward operations, cyber privacy, and/or operational security in a cyber or networking context
