Maintenance Supervisor

Smyth Companies is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations in our Chicago manufacturing facility. This role oversees equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and maintenance technicians supporting production.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance programs.

• Supervise daily activities of the maintenance team in a manufacturing environment

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of production equipment and facility systems

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and equipment repairs

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

• Improve equipment reliability and uptime

• Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

• Manage maintenance inventory, supplies, and vendor services

• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and repair documentation

• Enforce safety procedures and support plant safety initiatives

• 3–5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing

• Experience supervising maintenance technicians or mechanics

• Knowledge of industrial equipment, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Experience with electro-mechanical maintenance

• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, ISO, or BRC environments
