Position Summary:
Works within the Quality team to collaborate with various cross functional groups to facilitate procurement of high-quality optical product components for Sig Sauer products. The candidate must be able to interact constructively with suppliers and colleagues throughout the company to accomplish the tasks below.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs evaluation of supplier capabilities in relation to the procurement of components for use in high precision optical products. These components may be mechanical, electrical or optical in nature.
- Supports procurement team in the qualification of new suppliers.
- Functions as interface for design engineering and the supplier to help resolve interpretation issues during design, NPI and production.
- Supports Material Review process.
- Assists Quality Engineering group as per workload.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- 4 year technical degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering/manufacturing of aerospace, medical or automotive applications.
- Strong knowledge with respect to application of GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with Solid Works Software
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Software.
- Ability to write reports and procedures, and effectively present information to team members.
Working Conditions:
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
