SUMMARY: 

Responsible for repair and maintenance of all snow removal equipment and fleet vehicles, including preventative maintenance.  Inventory and parts management while being fiscally responsible for and repair and maintenance equipment budget accountability. 


  

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

· Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.

· Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus. Maintains skills in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.

· Performs mower grinding/sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels, installs and adjusts braking systems.

· Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.

· Understands electrical systems involving, wiring, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair

· Knowledge of the theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems and mowing equipment maintenance such as grinding, sharpening and adjustment.

· Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventative maintenance work.

· Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. 

· Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes. Manages expenses, ensures accurate records of repairs made, parts ordered and inventory. 

· Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area.

· Assists in training, planning, assigning, and directing proper operation of equipment. 

· Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate as it applies to equipment operation and equipment maintenance. 

· Assists in developing ongoing training programs.

· Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.

· Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.

· Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

· Attends staff meetings.

· Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed, and other duties as assigned. 



Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver's License.  Mechanics Certificate from Gas and Diesel Engine Training.
  • Education/Experience: Certificate from college or technical school; and/or minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. 
  • Personnel Management Experience Experience managing personnel.
  • Computer Knowledge: Microsoft Office systems.
  1. Language Skills: May be required: to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
  2. Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  3. Reasoning Ability: May be required: to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  4. Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust      focus.  
  5. Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration. Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk      of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts. Noise level can be loud.
