THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Trust and Estates Case Assistant, you will assist attorneys in all aspects of trust and estates transactions, including documentation, due diligence, development and entitlements, closing and related activities. You will be a member of the Firm's Corporate department, reporting to the attorneys on your team.

 

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with firm attorneys and colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:

  • Prepare and maintain documents relating to court accountings, trust administration and probate administration.
  • Prepare and administer estate plan critical dates and checklists.
  • Track and assist overseeing attorney with review of due diligence and trust and estate documents.
  • Participate in conference calls with clients.
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memorandum
  • Review organizational and authority documents.
  • Provide clerical support for case teams as needed, including but not limited to: reformatting and printing large documents and spreadsheets, converting ESI to hard-copy formats, creating issue-based binders
  • Maintain best records management practices across wide array of case files and documentation, including tracking and organizing files electronically and in hard copy
  • Perform data compilation, data cleanup, and QA on data transfer/data integrity
  • Support team attorneys and paralegals to serve clients in multiple functions across various areas of Trust and Estates law
  YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree - A strong desire to attend law school or pursue a long-term career as a paralegal is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn proprietary firm software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
  • Exceptional analytical ability, critical thinking, independent problem-solving
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to independently communicate with clients and opposing counsel

The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $60,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, CA. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
