As the Export Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for managing export compliance and function as a professional authority. Provide expert analysis of export requirements and educate the organization through process management, effective communication, and teamwork. Responsible for leading the documentation and processes for best practices related to export compliance.

What you'll do

  • Provide the company with export regulatory direction for both internal and external customers including researching and analyzing information.
  • Research and analyze government rules and regulations related to qualifying items for export markets, and registration details. Responsible for ensuring the company has the most up-to-date documentation to support country requirements on exports.
  • Coordinate gathering all government mandated export compliance information. Work collaboratively with Internal teams to gather information requested. Audits include USDA audit for export activity, subsequent audits, and audit AES (Automated Export System) filing and inquiry.
  • Complete plant and product registrations based on country requirements. Support current and new export markets. Assists with customer forms and questionnaires.
  • Monitor regulation changes impacting export markets. Advise internal teams of changes related to product compliance, testing requirements, import requirements by market based on country specific government agencies.
  • Prepare and maintain SOP's related to export compliance processes. Update SOP's and procedures that outline the requirements for company compliance to those who directly engage in export activities.
  • Execute and manage Free Trade Agreements including, preparation of annual FTA's (Including USCMA, Korus, Panama, Colombia, Peru, and others), affidavits, as required and requested. Review update and validate annual documents, statements and attestations as needed to support export transactions and keep data current.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in business, international or related field
  • 7+ years of experience working in the international segment understanding country food import laws and requirements and how they translate to Schreiber and exporting products.
  • Ability to work with the dynamics of the changing government regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in government regulations and compliance including export compliance, customs documentation, export transactional documents, and product registrations.
  • Ability to make objective decisions when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to partner with other parts of the organization, including Customer Service and sales team to ensure customer needs are met on a timely basis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills of complex situations.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high quality customer service and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
