The primary responsibility of the Operations Supervisor will be to perform daily rounds, monitor employee status and performance, conduct audits, issuing permits, coordinating barge traffic, and more, throughout the coke handling system in the areas of coke unit, bridge crane, conveyor, and dock areas.   Military Veterans and National Guard Reservists are encouraged to apply! The Basics: Location: St Charles, LA Days/Hours: 12 HR Shifts – 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM Equipment Used: Coke Handling System, frontend loader, crane, conveyor, in the coke unit and dock areas. Uniform Services Time Off (USTO) Uniform Services Differential Pay A culture that appreciates Team Members     What you'll be doing:      Ensure all employee follow proper safety rules and operating procedures  Conduct daily audits of the overhead bridge crane, conveyor, unit, dock, and associated equipment Issue frequent work orders to ensure the system is properly maintained Coordinate daily barge loading traffic, including communications to third parties involved Respond to any unsafe or out of place event or condition immediately Complete and file all necessary documentation as required including JHA's, permits, log entries, safety meetings, audit sheets, daily checksheets Assist in training of employees Conduct and document frequent Safety and toolbox meetings Maintain company objectives and expectations in the absence of the Facility Manager and Operations Manager Work closely with Valero Operations to keep production levels high, systems   Requirements to be successful in this position:    Must have a current TWIC at the time of application, no exceptions In person interviews require the candidate to be clean shaven, no exceptions Extensive knowledge of crane, coke unit, dock, and conveyor operating techniques Experience in bulk materials, conveyor systems and heavy equipment Experience interacting with an hourly, salary and client based workforce Proven ability to focus on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers Experience with OSHA guidelines, policies, and procedures   Education/Experience:   High School Diploma required    Excellent communication skills – both oral and written Excellent organizational skills Efficient with standard office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) Must be able to multi-task and set priorities Ability to manage confidential issues   Here are some physical requirements for this role: Must have the ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position:  Work in an environment containing coal dust, hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments Work at heights , climbing stairs, and climbing ladders Walk on uneven ground and up to 3 miles per shift Must have ability to wear required PPR Must be able to pass a fit test and pulmonary function test for the purposes of wearing a respirator and recertify annually or as needed Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
