Night Shift, Diesel Mechanic in Carlin, NV. Pay range $30.00 to $36.00 per hour Relocation Assistance Retention Bonus $10,000 Full-Time Monday to Friday, 10 hour shifts – Built in overtime! Work Location: Carlin, NV What You'll Be Doing Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on tractor-trailers Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain accurate maintenance records Other general maintenance duties as required Collaborate with Team Members outside of the department to ensure the overall success of the operation Why Join Savage Modern fleet — most trucks less than 5 years old Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid holidays Profit‑sharing bonus Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) Company‑provided uniforms and laundry service Strong safety culture and consistent support from leadership Job Requirements Ability to perform general maintenance on trucks and tractor trailers in the elements as this position does not have an enclosed shop Two to three years of Semi-Truck Fleet Mechanic experience, and experience with a variety of trucks a plus Confidence in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.) and more An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, being able to visually recognize problems is a big plus Class A CDL a plus, but not required The ability to weld aluminum is a plus For safety, it is essential that the candidate possesses English communication skills. The job demands the ability to understand and interpret both written and verbal operational and safety guidelines, as well as related regulations, policies, and memos Clear and effective communication with colleagues and superiors is a key requirement for this role Ensure compliance to strict OSHA and State regulations Physical Requirements Ability to work outside in the elements Must be willing to work a rotating schedule Physically able to handle heavy parts and pieces of equipment Safely Climb on and off the equipment Walk distances during shift, including on uneven ground Physically demanding work will be a daily function of this position Climb, crawl, and position their body in such a way that they can perform their required duties This person should be able to frequently lift 80 lbs
