JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is hiring a UAS Operator to join the Army UAS Training Test team located in Huntsville, Alabama (Redstone Arsenal).
This is a multi-disciplined team that covers a wide range of testing scopes, including testing physical and virtual network systems, software applications, and UAS control interfaces. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and switching gears supporting complex systems since this position will be working with multiple operating system types (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking architectures, and across multiple UAS platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures for UAS simulation and training software.
- Emulate operational scenarios within the training environment to validate system performance and accuracy.
- Identify, document, and track defects in the software using a defect tracking system, providing clear and concise reports.
- Collaborate closely with the software development team to help define acceptance criteria and facilitate the timely resolution of defects.
- Perform and lead functional, regression, and user acceptance tests on UAS trainers (e.g., Embedded Trainer-ET, Universal Mission Simulator-UMS).
- Review test procedures for accuracy against current Army Technical Manuals and operational publications, making corrections and updates where needed.
- Document, analyze, and clearly communicate test results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Report progress on problem resolution to management and devise improvements to current testing procedures.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Six (6) years relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
- Qualification in Gray Eagle MQ-1C UAS
- 2+ years of UAS Instructor Operator experience
- 50+ hours operating UAS trainers (Embedded Trainer-ET or Universal Mission Simulator-UMS)
- Ability to interact and work closely with the software development team to assist in acceptance criteria and test case creation
- Proficiency with Army Technical Manuals
- Proficiency with MS Office products
Desired Skills:
- Experience in software systems testing, software development, or software integration
- MS Azure experience
- Experience developing testing criteria
- Recency of flight: 12 hours as Aircraft Commander within the last 12 months
