SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer to join the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) team in Washington, DC. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explain complex information in a clear and concise manner and working with information technology (IT) staff to ensure accuracy of technical documentation. If you have previous experience as a Technical Writer in the IT industry, we encourage you to join our team. Job Description: The Technical Writer will consult with engineering and technical staff to develop technical and end user documentation for software and hardware technologies. Additionally, you'll develop and promote the adoption of documentation templates for IT system, project and program information. This role will function as a primary writer --responsible for deliverables of substantial scope and complexity. · Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. · Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionality. · Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users. · Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet project release dates and client deliverables. · Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others (technical specifications, user guides, installation guides, etc.), ensuring a consistent "look and feel." · Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals · Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience: · Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field such as computer science or a focus on English, writing, or communications. · 5+ years of experience required in an IT environment. · Experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skill. · Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills. · Experience creating infographics to more clearly communicate workflow processes and abstract topics. · Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference. · Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) · Strong technical aptitude -ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools. · Excellent work ethic and strong intellectual curiosity. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and multi-task. · Desire and ability to innovate and improve upon current processes. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
