SAIC is seeking a 24/7 Support Desk Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
This is to fill a position for a 24/7 support desk that provides Level 1-3 remote support and system expertise to include:
- Configuration support of end user.
- Remote software troubleshooting with end user.
- Remote network troubleshooting with end user.
- Software testing for development team.
- Support tools and process refinement.
- Documentation of issues, resolutions, and knowledge base articles.
This position could require:
- Up to 10% travel
- Rotating shift schedules with 8-12 hour shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Must possess a Bachelors and two (2) or more years experience; Additional four (4) years experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Ability to acquire IAT Level II Certification.
- Experience as system administrator.
- Experience in a service desk environment to include using ticketing system to track issues and issue resolution.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong experience with troubleshooting independently.
- RedHat or other Linux distro experience.
- Experience with TCP/IP networks.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
