SAIC is seeking a 24/7 Support Desk Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

This is to fill a position for a 24/7 support desk that provides Level 1-3 remote support and system expertise to include:

  • Configuration support of end user.
  • Remote software troubleshooting with end user.
  • Remote network troubleshooting with end user.
  • Software testing for development team.
  • Support tools and process refinement.
  • Documentation of issues, resolutions, and knowledge base articles.

This position could require:

  • Up to 10% travel
  •      Rotating shift schedules with 8-12 hour shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Must possess a Bachelors and two (2) or more years experience; Additional four (4) years experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Ability to acquire IAT Level II Certification.
  • Experience as system administrator.
  • Experience in a service desk environment to include using ticketing system to track issues and issue resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong experience with troubleshooting independently.
  • RedHat or other Linux distro experience.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networks.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
