SAIC is seeking a Strategic Advisor and Systems Engineer to deliver Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) services supporting an Intelligence Community (IC) customer in Chantilly, VA. This organization leads the development and execution of enduring strategies for emerging technologies and next-generation space systems research and development.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Apply your expertise to shape capabilities, technologies, and mission advancement for National Space Programs. You will deliver strategic research, policy development, and analytical support to an IC customer executing a comprehensive strategy extending to 2050 – work that will define U.S. national security and space leadership for decades to come.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Coordination
- Serve as primary strategic resource for day-to-day client needs
- Communicate progress and activities to customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide expert guidance on strategy coordination across programs and office teams
- Lead customer optimization initiatives to ensure objective achievement
- Conduct research on customer requirements, foreign competitors, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive recommendations through implementation
- Coordinate activities with external organizations (DoW, NASA, National Labs, Universities)
Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement
- Assess stakeholder objectives and priorities, ensuring alignment with National-level strategies
- Develop metrics frameworks to measure strategic implementation progress toward strategic objectives
Analysis & Innovation
- Demonstrate thought leadership on foreign technology trends and strategic developments
- Develop innovative approaches to streamline recurring strategic plan reviews
- Partner with analytics team to assess data trends and evaluate performance
- Identify growth opportunities through customer analysis and future technology horizon scanning
Technical Currency
- Maintain awareness of latest space technology trends
- Stay current on emerging technologies including artificial intelligence
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
- Bachelor's degree with 14+ years relevant experience or Master's degree with 12+ years in business/marketing, computer science, computer engineering, or cyber related field
- 5+ years in-depth knowledge of strategic design, futurist strategy, and technology hype cycles
- General knowledge of space systems
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to multitask
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, briefing, and writing skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated success working on cross-functional teams
- Prior experience in product or strategic design consulting
- Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills; aptitude for on-site SETA work
