SAIC is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) team in Washington, DC. Job Duties The Automation Engineer will engage in on premises and cloud-based systems engineering and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing, and development and deployment of automated software applications into a cloud environment. Activities supported will include full life cycle end-to-end systems engineering, development, integration and deployment of knowledge-based model-driven on premises and cloud computing and information systems that meet specified mission needs and speed. Participates in research, architecture, design, and implementation of systems and solutions across Microsoft Windows, Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Linux and Cisco platforms. · Assists with and leads development of integration and migration plans/schedules. · Collaborates with key constituents to set project expectations, clearly defined roles and responsibilities. · Seeks and recommends new technologies or vendors to address specific business needs or to enhance integration practices. · Continues to enhance personal knowledge of systems, integration technology, databases, and architecture techniques and provides mentoring to other team members. · Performs analysis for transition planning, intelligence formation requirements and architecture baselines. · Supports business process improvements, new systems deployments and systems upgrades. · Develops systems architecture plans, design documentation and diagrams, user guides and knowledgebase articles. · Supports multiple systems providing in-depth documentation for those systems including the transitioning to operations and other support groups with complete support/training materials. · Maintains standardized status reports, communicates project progress and proactively identifies project delays/issues with timely solution-oriented recommendations to avoid project delays.


Required Education & Experience - Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. · Requires a broad range of skills and breadth of knowledge in several IT disciplines including systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering and interface protocols. · Knowledge of Microsoft and Red Hat Operating Systems, Cisco network devices and data center support equipment. · Possess an extensive knowledge of information security concepts, information and system architecture concepts. · Expertise with PowerShell scripting and APIs Clearance: Must be able to attain Public Trust
