Position: Engineering Technician V
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the Special Operations Command Branch and Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. This position supports field and lab electronic systems and testing for Special Operations Command (SOCOM). As an Engineering Technician V, you will support surge test events, travel as required, and serve as a key technical resource for test equipment and material. You will be working onsite in a fast paced and dynamic environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential. You are required to possess a SECRET clearance and later a TS/SCI.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory of MXQW test equipment and supplies located in Buildings 3330N and 3191.
- Support test events by transporting, setting up, tearing down, operating, maintaining, and accounting for test equipment.
- Provide technical support during test events, including troubleshooting equipment issues to support RF systems, electronic systems, cables, modules, assemblies, and related test equipment. and assisting engineers with corrective actions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned test equipment, support material, and field test setup requirements.
- Attend planning meetings, Integrated Product Teams, scheduling sessions, and other and provide recommendations to improve execution of test events.
- Serve as a UAV pilot and/or tactical vehicle driver as required. Candidate may work toward required licensing or certifications after supporting the branch.
- Repair, install, and maintain cables, modules, assemblies, and related equipment required for test execution and review work for compliance with overall project objectives, customer requirements, and test event needs.
- May train or assist lower-level technicians as required.
- Must be willing to work in inclement weather and field test environments.
- Must be able to lift more than 20 pounds.
Qualifications
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Desired education: High School Diploma, Vocational Degree, or GED Certificate.
- Preferred 10 years of professional related experience in electronics technology, test, and measurement of electronic countermeasure systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an engineering technician with a background in electrical design support, troubleshooting, and system-level test support.
- Experience supporting military specialties associated with electronic countermeasures, RF systems, microwave systems, or related technical schools.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as signal sources, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and other general-use test equipment.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting hardware issues to determine corrective actions at the system, circuit card assembly, and component levels.
