SAIC is seeking Single Mobility System (SMS) Architect to support a Command and Control System, Single Mobility System (SMS), as part of the IT Service Management effort for. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command's infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).
The successful candidate will provide enterprise architecture and systems engineering experience to build, configure, and deploy SMS network servers, server virtualization systems, laptops, desktops, VDI, and supporting software/hardware in the USTC Cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
Documents the overall platform design and helps to analyze the impact of new requirements
Ensures platform alignment with the business strategy
Provides consultative technical leadership to the platform team
Creates and maintains a detailed view of the existing architecture
Provides architectural controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are used when delivering business solutions
Resolves technical escalations, including responding to defects
Participates in process workshops
Works closely with enterprise architecture team
Assists in migrating configuration across instances
Integration expert in the absence of a dedicated role
Develops and manages information to support enterprise decision making.
Manages and improves existing reporting systems.
Conducts and facilitates (and educates and trains on) analyses, issues identification, organizational risk assessment, and decision-making processes.
Provides consulting and analytic services to leadership.
Provides technical support and mentoring and training to less-senior analysts.
Develops methodology and processes for prioritization and scheduling of projects.
Analyzes problems and determines root causes.
Works closely with all Directorate Branches and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.
This position is part time, casual Monday through Friday, up to 18 hours per week.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Ten (10) or more years of experience
DoD Secret clearance or higher
Must have at least one of these IAT Level II certifications: Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP
Must have at least one Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility for Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR Operating System (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.
Must possess competencies in installation, service design, and support in an environment that uses Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016.
Experience with production environments.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be available to participate in on-call work on a reoccurring basis.
Solid troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability of end-to-end problem management and ownership.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of authentication functions and protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos, and Active Directory
Desired Qualifications:
MA/MS
ITIL V4 Foundations certification
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
