SAIC's National Security Customer Group (NSCG) is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating a robust space resiliency architecture.

SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Test Engineer that can work in a collaborative team-focused environment supporting a new space reconnaissance mission area across the IC and DoD. The successful candidate will be a member of the verification and validation (V&V) team that plans and executes government test events for a multi-satellite ground system. As the V&V Technical Lead, the candidate will be responsible for assisting the Government team to establish the V&V strategy and implementation approach to assure Governance V&V of the agile developed system to satisfy allocated requirements and rapidly evolving user needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the V&V technical focal point by assisting the customer in scoping all testing and V&V activities for all phases of the program lifecycle

  • Be the primary author for the Program's V&V Strategy to connect Agency-level mission objectives with incrementally developed system capabilities and evolving user needs

  • Lead the development and execution of Government-managed test events

  • Coordinate with Developers, on behalf of the Government, to scope and plan test activities

  • Be a team member responsible for preparing and executing V&V plans and procedures


  • Experience in Acquisition Offices or Program Management Offices responsible designing, acquiring, deploying and sustaining large complex systems

  • Experience in the Intelligence Community, especially with space-based systems

  • Bachelor degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with fourteen (14) or more years relevant system engineering and testing experience

  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skills

  • Demonstrated capability and success working in team environments

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of IC space reconnaissance systems and how they contribute to intelligence priorities
  • Working knowledge of System Engineering lifecycle processes
  • Management experience leading a diverse team
