SAIC is excited to announce a Network Engineering role on the Network Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) supporting our government customer NORAD NOTRHCOM in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is on-site and prime aligned. SAIC seeks an engineering technical expert to bring value to the customer through alignment with the NITES contractors and ongoing emerging deep technical solutions. This position will require technical long-range planning with short-term functional solutions to reach broad DoD mandates. This is a technically aligned position and will require touch labor as well as a strategic mindset to be successful.
***This position is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO and requires an active TS/SCI clearance***
We are looking for an Expert Network Engineer and dedicated professional with an equivalent amount of education and combined experience that can solve real world short and long term technical problem-sets.
Automation and Orchestration of ITSM related technologies – Kubernetes – RedHat – Ansible – Terraform – Puppet Cloud Formation
Strong background in scripting technologies with working knowledge of Python and or PowerShell, Bash
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), CloudFormation, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure
Experience with cloud computing, including PaaS, IaaS and SaaS
Experience with CaaS (e.g., Kubernetes and OpenShift)
A Tier III O&M Network Engineer to support the customer's various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide routing to an enterprise level infrastructure across multiple classifications and act as subject matter experts in routing technologies across multiple vendors
The job duties of Tier III O&M Network Engineer are as follows:
Tier III O&M of Juniper and Cisco routers include extensive troubleshooting at the layer 2 and layer 3 level and implementation of routing changes
Troubleshooting network issues related to connectivity, latency, asymmetric routing
Implementation of routing and troubleshooting issues related to the following protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF's, VPN's
Support technical exchange meetings to help resolve other ISP and application owner issues
Support problem management to conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues
Provide day-to-day Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for incident management events and outages
Collaborate with IT staff on projects and initiatives
Work with corresponding technical support teams as required to resolve network traffic concerns
Utilize monitoring tools and log collectors to provide in-dept analysis of traffic anomalies and issues
Candidate will be on call after hours on a rotational basis
Not required but experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications is a plus
Requirements:
Cisco Certifications CCNA or CCNP preferred
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Juniper and Cisco routers and switches
Experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPN's, VRF's, MPLS
Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnet, Network Address Translation (NAT) and security technologies
Demonstrated ability to engineer and modify rulesets to allow connectivity for new customer requirements
Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and develop schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation such that the supported equipment and software can be maintained with minimal training
Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI
BS + 9 years experience. Additional experience can be used in lieu of a degree
Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+)
Cisco Certifications CCNA or CCNP preferred

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
