SAIC is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly experienced Internal Communications leader to help shape and execute our communications strategy across our three business groups. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution and can translate business priorities into compelling narratives that engage, inform, and inspire a distributed workforce. This position is Hybrid and will consider candidates in the Northern VA area.
This leader will play a critical role in shaping how we connect with employees across diverse environments, including those with limited access to traditional communication channels. You will help elevate the employee experience through consistent messaging, innovative delivery approaches, and impactful storytelling.
As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will bring both executive presence and strong business acumen, partnering closely across the organization to drive clarity, alignment, and connection through impactful communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and drive internal communications strategy in partnership with senior communications, marketing and business group leadership
- Ensure communications align with and reinforce SAIC's strategic priorities, mission, and culture
- Design and implement innovative approaches to reach and engage employees with limited access to traditional communications channels.
- Develop and execute integrated, multi-channel communications plans and initiatives that improve consistency, visibility, and engagement across the business group workforce
- Create compelling content across formats, including executive messaging, speeches, presentations, articles, videos, and digital communications
- Translate complex business strategies into clear, engaging, and actionable messaging for employees
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance on messaging, tone, delivery, and audience engagement
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure consistency across internal and external communications and branding
- Contribute to the editorial calendar and enterprise communications rhythm to ensure alignment with business group initiatives
- Support business group events, including town halls, leadership meetings, and employee engagements
- Champion storytelling that highlights employee contributions, strengthens culture, and connection across the workforce
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in how we communicate
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in internal communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic partner to senior executives, with strong executive presence and judgment
- Demonstrated experience reaching and engaging a distributed, customer-facing workforce through effective communication channels and tools
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas into compelling narratives
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across all communications
- A creative and innovative mindset, with a willingness to think differently, challenge the status quo, and test new approaches
- Ability to operate with agility and pace in a dynamic, evolving business environment
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across functions, business groups, and levels
- Passion for communications and a demonstrated ability to energize and engage employees
- Familiarity with digital and multimedia communications tools and platforms
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 18 years of relevant experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Strong command of AP Style
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in advising and preparing senior leaders
- Experience in Government Contracting and/or the Aerospace and Defense Industry preferred
