SAIC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer as part of a team providing hardware and software development solutions for the US Army in Huntsville, AL. Activities will include the development of special purpose electronic assemblies.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Identify and manage electrical/electronic hardware requirements.
Perform circuit design, analysis, simulation and component selection for high availability, high reliability and low Size, Weight and Power (SWAP) environments.
Perform initial checkout and debug of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.
Apply knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
¾ Embedded microcontroller hardware/firmware design and development
¾ FPGA firmware design, development, verification
¾ High speed digital design (e.g. DDR3/DDR4)
¾ Analog design for data acquisition systems
¾ Switch mode power supply design
¾ Motor control
¾ EMC
Generate and Review documentation for a Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware/firmware components.
Assess technical and integration risk and help identify mitigations.
Witness integration and testing, review test plans and procedures, review and adjudicate Deficiency Reports.
Review relevant milestone contract deliverables and provide recommendations across the life cycle of the development effort.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Clearance:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
