SAIC is seeking a Senior Communications Project Engineer. In this role, you will play a vital role in implementing new communications technologies in an innovative future space architecture by leading a team of technical subject matter experts defining enterprise interoperability standards for space-space and space-ground communications and developing and executing a communications technology development strategy. This position is located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
Job Duties include:
- Produce and execute project plans.
- Lead weekly team status update meetings with customers.
- Facilitate technical interchange meetings between customer subject matter experts and developers; capture, assign, and track to completion action items; capture and publish meeting notes.
- Curate and maintain project information using enterprise collaboration and project management tools.
- Curate and adjudicate comments to draft interoperability standards documents.
- Ensure configuration management and version control of draft interoperability standards documents.
- Prepare incremental drafts of standards documents for customer review.
- Coordinate efforts of representatives from multiple customer offices to accomplish project objectives.
- Coordinate engagements with potential external users of customer's data transport network.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
- 14+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with communications system development and test.
- Experience with space system electronics technology development.
- Experience managing engineering development projects.
- Proficient with modern technical project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA).
- Ability to work collaboratively with personnel from multiple functions and at all levels of the customer organization to deliver results; strong networking, interpersonal, customer service skills, team building and problem-solving skills with an ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan, track and maintain due dates for multiple taskers and products central to project execution.
- Experience in DoD IC acquisition and program management processes.
