Join SAIC's team in support of the missions of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). As the surface transportation component of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), SDDC's primary functions include worldwide port operations, global traffic management, deployability engineering, and development of integrated transportation systems. The SAIC team will support to the System Development, Maintenance, and Sustainment for the Global Freight Management (GFM) System through transformational, high quality software for GFM-related transportation systems and effectively reporting results, in order for SDDC to make critical implementation decisions.
Senior business process analyst works on an Agile software team to deliver technical design, implementations and documentation for software integrations. Conducts interviews with software users to understand and refine business processes; refines and defines requirements in the absence of a business owner and work with the business owner to validate requirements. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and government requirements. Develops user stories, use cases, test cases and tasks for the development team to implement within estimated timelines that are derived from accurate and qualified work estimates and plans. Meets with other development teams, other business analysts and customers to understand business and technical requirements of integrated software, document findings, resolve issues and provide education where required. Reports progress, activities and status on projects, frequently liaising with service partners who are leveraged to deliver technical implementation in close collaboration with the development team. Plans and leads major capability improvements. Maintains and develops knowledge of the software technologies, integration and future Government and industry trends. May serve as lead/scrum master for a software development team.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 years related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years' experience. Other degrees, technical/leadership certifications and total experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- US citizen, with active DoD Secret clearance.
Experience with USTRANSCOM and SDDC operations, including expertise in policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines.
Experience with using/supporting military logistics software like GFM, Single Monitoring System (SMS), Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES), Integrated Booking System (IBS), IGC (IDE-Global Transportation Network Convergence), etc.
Experience as a business analyst in Agile methodology Scrum software development teams. Department of Defense experience preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills; other analytical tools experience is a plus.
Excellent problem solving, written, verbal and briefing skills.
Experience with software support/Agile lifecycle management tools including Serena Business Mashups (SBM), Confluence/Jira, VersionOne, ReadyAPI/SOAPUI, etc.
Applicable leadership/technical certifications including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Six Sigma, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), etc.
