SAIC is seeking a SDA Space Lead to support the Space Development Agency (SDA). As the Space Lead, you will guide the development, integration, and testing of advanced space systems. This role requires a deep understanding of space acquisitions, spacecraft integration, and system engineering processes to support mission-critical efforts from design through on-orbit operations.
Note: This role can be located in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA
Responsibilities to include:
- Guide space system acquisition efforts, including the development, integration, and testing of Tranche 0, Tranche 1, and Missile Track Custody systems.
- Provide technical expertise for programs such as SBIRS, Next Gen OPIR, and IR Payload development.
- Oversee spacecraft integration, space vehicle assembly, and environmental testing, including TVAC and acoustic testing.
- Manage mission-critical activities such as Mission Management, Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding (TT&C), and Mission Data Processing Application Framework (MDPAF).
- Develop and maintain System of Systems Design, CONOPS, and Systems Requirements Documents (SRD).
- Facilitate engineering review processes, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct Integrated Systems Test, SITL (Software-in-the-Loop), and HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing to validate system performance.
- Create and maintain Requirements Verification Plans (RVP) and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTM).
- Oversee launch integration, space launch, LEOps (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) testing, and on-orbit testing.
- Ensure the development and accuracy of Interface Control Documents (ICD) and manage the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB).
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, etc.). Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active SECRET with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access
- 10 years of experience in space acquisitions, focusing on development, integration, and testing of space systems.
- Proficiency in space system design, including spacecraft integration, environmental testing, and on-orbit operations.
- Experience with systems engineering, systems integration, and tools like PLM for program management.
- Familiarity with key programs and technologies such as SBIRS, Next Gen OPIR, MDPAF, and Tranche systems.
- Strong background in requirements management, ICD development, and engineering review processes.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
