SAIC is seeking an Engineering Tech IV in Bedford Indiana to support the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) program.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Command-and-Control System Engineering Technician, you will be a critical member of our CAC2S team responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of hardware systems essential for CAC2S operations.  In this position, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to address complex and impactful challenges. You will work alongside government customers and contractor teams to address a variety of tasks and projects while fostering strong relationships with customers, sponsors, and industry partners.

 

The role of Engineering Technician IV will involve maintaining and upgrading this system. Tasking will involve: Supporting engineering activities such as design, test, and modifications;  working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions; Collecting maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data; Preparing engineering documentation, reports, and kitting of systems. 

 

This role will be fully on site in Bedford, IN. No Remote

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Duties will include disassembly/reassembly, inspection, sustainment, and system testing.

  • Using hand tools and power tools to assemble according to engineering drawings.

  • Wiring system to schematics and engineering drawings and testing of electrical circuits.

  • Using test equipment to test and analyze power, Ethernet, and RF cables.

  • Documenting completed work in work cards, processes, and reporting to program lead.

  • Performing tasking such as integration of system components, modifications to systems, and testing system functionality.

  • Analyzing and implementing procedures and processes for the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the programs/projects.

  • Providing kitting, receiving and shipment support as needed.

  • Supporting logistics efforts such as parts pulls, return to inventory, and inventory audits.

  • Using technical manuals related to equipment to create processes/procedures to perform functional testing of LRU's and assigning condition codes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Associate's degree and at least 2 years of experience in related field OR High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in related field. Military experience will be taken in lieu of college degree.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Interim secret clearance with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.  SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have a valid U.S. passport.
  • Proficient with computers and experience in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Outlook
  • Must be willing to travel 15% of time for ECP updates and fielding/training events both CONUS and OCONUS.
